Half the Sky Movement: The Game
The Half the Sky Movement began with a book that inspired a global movement to raise women out of oppression by providing tools and resources through a network of on-the-ground organizations. After a successful PBS special, the team at Half the Sky teamed up with Games for Change to produce an original Facebook game based on a few key themes and NGOs featured in the book.
I acted as the Digital Marketing Manager for the launch of the game, managing all aspects of online marketing, content strategy, social media, and online advertising. I recruited and managed a highly-skilled team of student interns to assist in making the most of the game's launch. We worked closely with 7 NGO partners to ensure that their work was properly represented in the game, and that all of our promotional efforts were aligned.
This was an extremely fun and challenging product. It was a wonderful fit for me because it combined my knowledge of Facebook applications, my love for the Half the Sky Movement, and also my expertise in social and digital marketing.
The project was extremely successful, and recently hit 1 Million players on Facebook!
